YFS Looks For Donations To Help Families

Holidays are a particularly stressful time of year for many families around the area.

So once again this year, Youth and Family Services is seeking donations to help families in need.

YFS is looking for individuals or businesses to sponsor a family as part of the Holiday Family Giving Program.

All the money received will be used to purchase a holiday dinner and gifts.

Over the past few years, YFS has noticed a dramatic increase in families needing assistance during the holiday season.

John Gordon, the YFS Director of Community Support, says, “We specifically contact each of our program directors to identify families that have specific needs that may not benefit from what we would call a good Christmas. So we identify those within our programs and they'll be literally hundreds of children that will benefit from the support from people and businesses in our community. And again, we can't do it without their support."
