    Decades after WWII ended, some acts of service and events of war have been lost in time. But one South Dakota man, who recently passed, is remembered with a prestigious award from the French First Republic. Gordon B. Lease was awarded the Knight of the Legion of Honor Medal for his contributions to France and Western Europe during the war. Lease passed away Oct. 30 at the VA Medical Center in Ft. Meade, S.D. at the age of 93.
